Position Overview

KMI Services Group is seeking experienced Pipe Fitters to join our growing team in Winter Haven, Florida.

As a licensed mechanical contractor, KMI self-performs all process piping work with our in-house team of skilled welders and pipefitters. We are looking for detail-oriented professionals who take pride in precision, accurate layouts, and high-quality stainless steel piping installations.

This position offers steady, local employment with a combination of shop pre-fabrication and field installation. This is not a short-term or traveling position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to develop accurate isometric drawings.
  • Measure, calculate, and lay out piping systems according to project specifications.
  • Design pipe systems and hanger supports.
  • Perform precision pipe cutting using band saws and orbital cutting equipment, including tools such as the GF4.
  • Fabricate and fit sanitary tubing and schedule piping, primarily stainless steel.
  • Complete shop pre-fabrication at KMI's Winter Haven facility.
  • Perform field fitting and installation on active projects.
  • Collaborate with KMI's in-house welders, pipefitters, and project teams.
  • Follow established safety procedures and maintain high standards of workmanship.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous experience in industrial or process pipe fitting.
  • Must be able to read and interpret P&IDs and independently produce accurate isometric drawings from them.
  • Experience measuring, laying out, and fitting stainless steel piping systems.
  • Familiarity with sanitary tubing and schedule piping.
  • Experience using pipe-cutting equipment, including band saws and orbital cutting saws.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work in both shop and field environments.
